A "pinch me" moment was opening an email from the Steelers asking for 45 centerpieces for an upcoming event at Acrisure Stadium! Our football team is such a quintessential part of our community and it was an honor to provide our floral design services.
We wanted to re-envision the Steeler colors because let's face it, using yellow as gold, along with black can feel very "Halloween" and it was important to stay true to the modern, elevated style that Lilac & Fawn is known for. Jenny decided to use Anemones, which are dramatic and eye-catching with their stem shape, white petals and dark center. We also used Playa Blanca roses to ground the design with their large faces and high petal count. We spent an entire day spray painting all of the greenery with an antique, matte gold color, added touches of dried black "bunny tail" and completed the designs in modern, matte black vases. The Anemones were definitely a showstopper. Even during set-up we had staff commenting on their beauty! We loved how our designs looked on the black linens with the expansive windows of the stadium lending its views of downtown Pittsburgh in the background.
